Teens Are Violent
In 2000 there were about 1,561 teens under the age of 18 arrested for homicide and 9% of all murders in the United states were committed by teens under the age of 18 (Teen Violence Statistics).
In 2009, 31 percent of students, grades 9 - 12, reported they had been in a physical fight at least once during the previous 12 months(Robers, Truman, & Zhang, 2010).
11 percent had said they had been in a fight on school property during the previous 12 months (Robers, Truman, & Zhang, 2010).
